bright is right

I think everyone in cold South Africa could do with some bright decor right about now.

fashionably frosty

It's so cold in my hometown (I'm visiting for a week) today that it's actually difficult to think. All my mind sees is flashes of a toasty fireplace, nourishing soup, and a still steaming chocolate pudding. When it's this freezing, all thoughts of looking fashionable disappear. I just wear as many layers as possible and don't care if I look 5 kilos heavier. My red nose probably also doesn't help.

This little Inuit family manages to look quite stylish in their cold weather ware. Pity about the fur.

winter hibernation

It never gets very cold in Durban, which actually makes me a little sad. I am used to my hometown where the temperature usually goes below freezing at night. I do love curling up in bed with a book, big slab of chocolate, and electric blanket.

This looks like a great home to hibernate in during a long, cold winter...
